Coventry City defender Elliot Ward feels the club is desperate to avoid relegation following Saturdays defeat to table topping Stoke City.
Ward scored the Sky Blues only goal of the game on Saturday from the penalty spot in a 2-1 defeat to Stoke City.
The defender told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire, “If we perform like we did first half against Stoke a whole game, then no-one will get near us.”
“We desperately want to stay in this division. We have to kick on all week. We have to train hard and build on the positives,” he added.
Chris Coleman’s side currently lie 21st in the Championship table and travel to bottom side Colchester on Saturday (April 19th) looking for their first away win in the league since early December.
Ward Continued: “Its one we have to believe we are going to win. We have to play for ninety minutes and defend as a team.”
